Welcome to the new look, SHORT, ClubRiada newsletter. In this issue we give you a sneak preview of our exciting new product RiadaButton before it's officially unleashed on the Internet, explain how to download a copy at a special discounted price, how to obtain a free upgrade if you're a registered owner of RiadaAttivo, and we have news on who's won and entered our regular ClubRiada competition. A brief run down is provided below along with a link that takes you to more information. We hope you enjoy the new format. Please let us know what you think!

- New Riada Product: RiadaButton

RiadaButton is free for use on a single unique domain while displaying embedded Riada advertisements. RiadaButton replaces RiadaAttivo and current registered owners of RiadaAttivo can obtain a free copy of RiadaButton by emailing sales@riada.com by the 15th November 1998, with either 1 or 2 below:
1. Your name and the last four digits of the credit card you used to purchase RiadaAttivo (do not email the whole number), OR
2. Your name, Riada Customer ID and the email you quoted in the purchase form that you ordered RiadaAttivo with (ie. the email we sent your registration details to).
Please note, customers should save and keep their copy of RiadaAttivo, as RiadaAttivo projects cannot be opened in RiadaButton.

Winners of Gold awards each receive a free registered copy of any current Riada software title of their choice, and a link to their site and a congratulatory note is also published on the *FRONT PAGE OF THE RIADA WEB SITE*. All winners receive either Gold, Silver or Bronze trophy images to display on their Riada enabled web site, plus the web sites of Silver and Bronze winners are highlighted in the ClubRiada section on the Riada web site. Submissions for both Hints and RiadaGallery are eligible and entries are assessed in terms of originality, usefulness and style with which Riada products are used.

- RiadaHeadline: Reading and Displaying Dynamic Data From A File - Gold trophy winner submitted by http://www.koalas.net
A scrolling list of the seven candidates was created in RiadaHeadline for the Gwydir electorate and the project was set to read from a text file every two minutes. At the close of voting on Federal election day, results were phoned in from polling booths and entered into an Excel spreadsheet, that calculated total votes for each candidate and the percentage of the primary vote for the sitting member and other candidates. A text file was created with MS Word with OLE links to the relevant cells in the Excel sheet and a macro used to update the links, copy and paste all the text to a new document, and save it as a text file for RiadaHeadline to read from. This text file was then uploaded every two minutes using an automated FTP client. The final result was "live" voting figures on the net. As the RiadaHeadline project reads the file every two minutes, there was no need for visitors to the site to reload the page - RiadaHeadline did it for them!
